Festival rules

The competition is announced on June 1, 2024, the deadline for submitting films to the competition is December 31, 2024, and is governed by the festival statute and competition rules.


The work can be accepted into the competition if it meets the following conditions:

  • It premiered between January 1 and December 31, 2024. The exception is films that will premiere or preview directly at the 2025 International Comedy Film Festival.
  • The films for the competition are selected by the program committee of the International Comedy Film Festival.
  • Delivery of a preview video to the festival organizer's postal address on a medium (USB, HDD), or via Úschovna.cz. At the same time, the applicant will send a link to the trailer in HD or 4K quality for the submitted film on YouTube.
  • Specifications of the film preview video for the selection committee: HD video file (or similar resolution) in AVI or MKV format, maximum bit rate 6000 kB/s * stereo or 5.1 sound
  • Applicants will be informed of the selection committee's decision on the works selected for the competition by the end of January 2025. They will also be invited to supplement their materials and send a film copy, if necessary. The list of selected works will then be published on the festival website www.icomfilmfest.com by the end of March 2025.
  • For screening of selected films at the festival, the following formats are accepted: DCP / minimum bit rate 6000 kB/s, stereo or 5.1 sound FULL HD video file (or related resolution) / minimum bit rate 6000 kB/s, stereo or 5.1 sound * And we also require a backup FULL HD video file / minimum bit rate 6000 kB/s, stereo sound.
  • A short film is a film with a maximum length of up to 60 minutes. A feature film is a film with a length of over 60 minutes.
  • Delivery of a film copy and a backup video file for screenings at the festival is possible by delivery on a medium (USB, HDD) to the organizer's postal address, or via the website www.uschovna.cz.
  • Screening copies of selected films must be sent to the festival no later than May 10, 2025. This deadline must not be exceeded. It is mandatory for the participant to follow the instructions regarding the delivery of copies.
